Raised bed itself build materials and instructions
And that’s how it works! All you need to build your raised bed of pallets is four Euro pallets – we have decided to use new Euro pallets to make sure that no toxins get into our planted food. A top frame, chipboard, weed fleece, tackers, screws, cordless drill, different types of earth and the plants of your choice. This raised bed was not built floor to floor, – instead we have used a top frame, which also serves as a connector of all Euro pallets. Attention when ordering your top frame, as the frames are available in different sizes.
We have used the dimensions of the standard pallets (120 x 80). In the same dimensions, we got a large chipboard, which serves as the bottom of the top frame for the raised bed and was fastened with screws around it. If you would like to fill your raised bed floor level, you simply leave the floor and uses the top frame as a connector of all Euro pallets.
If the ground is stuck, you can drill holes in the ground with a cordless drill to allow the water to drain off later. Place two pallets flush with each other at a 90 ° angle and fasten the top frame flush with the europallets as well. The same thing you do with the third palette on the other side. Again, to support the floor slab, we added a beam below the top frame to give it extra support. If you have everything, you can already attach the fourth pallet. Of course, the side pockets also have narrow base plates, which you can cut to size with a jigsaw and re-attach with screws.
Next you attach the weed fleece with a stapler. And then you can already fill your raised bed with the appropriate layers. For the bed of europallets we have used a total of four layers. For the first layer you need branches, twigs and shrubs, the second layer was mother earth, the third layer compost, and potting mixed and for the top and thus last layer we used raised bed soil. You can create the same layers according to the same principle, depending on what you want to put in your page fan. Are you through it, you can even already plant your raised bed to your taste. Finished!
