Build a wardrobe yourself – instructions and inspirational ideas
Let’s continue with our series of practical and creative DIY projects. After the chic shelf for the living room wall and after the knife magnetic strip for the kitchen back wall, we would also like to beautify our entrance area and equip it functionally. That’s why we opted for a DIY wardrobe.
This project is very creative and you can apply any buttons and hooks. We decided on a simple variant in white. Take a look at the result below …
DIY hallway furniture
Build the wardrobe yourself – necessary materials:
♦ 5 hooks, buttons or matching wooden sticks (as in the picture)
♦ Wooden board measuring 60 cm x 15 cm x 4 cm
♦ Guideline and pen
♦ Drill
♦ bar finder and 6 countersunk screws about 7 cm long
♦ Wood glue, tape, primer and paint
The following materials are needed
Design your own wardrobe design
Step 1
On the back of the wooden board mark the places of the clothes hooks. For example, you could divide the 60 cm long board as follows: 6cm + 12cm + 12cm + 12cm + 12cm + 6cm. So the coat hooks stand at a distance of 12 cm between each other and at a distance of 6 cm from the edge.
Mark the exact places
step 2
The next step is to halve the newly marked wooden board exactly along the lines, so that the heels are fixed straight in the middle. And then you can already screw the hoes on the board.
Everything will fit exactly
You can also first glue the hooks to the wooden board with glue
And then screw on. You can hide the screws with putty
step 3
You can also use some color and paint your new DIY wardrobe in any color. You can varnish the wood or just leave it rough.
For a precise painting, use adhesive tape
Step 4
For wall mounting, use the beam finder and attach the wardrobe to the wall in the right place.
You can hide the screws again with putty
Our DIY wardrobe is ready!
And we can hang up our clothes
