Create your own unique chess pieces yourself

During one of our researches on the internet we came across this DIY project for chess pieces. The idea comes from Brazil. A group of architecture students from Sao Paulo wanted to create something new from used metal parts. So this sustainable chess game project was born.

They have collected screws, nuts and bolts, creating cool chess pieces. The chessboard is made of sheet metal and the figures themselves are colored with color spray – in silver and brass. Peasants, runners, knights, towers, kings and queens look perfect. The whole ensemble has a specific, mechanical look and at the same time looks stylish and robust. Playing with it can be a unique pleasure. It is a creative example of how to create complicated compositions or objects with simple materials. In this case, the parts are simply screwed or glued together. If you take a closer look at the chess pieces, you can see it more closely. With a little hand skill and the necessary dose of patience, you will certainly be able to create such a DIY chess game for yourself. Maybe the old, conventional chess pieces have become too boring for you or you just feel like something new. Be up and running and try it once! Of course you can also improvise and arrange the parts differently than shown here. There is no such thing as a must. Design your chess pieces to your taste.
