Old PET bottles become creative plastic figures
Sustainable art from PET bottles
We have already considered the problem with plastic and the associated pollution of the environment. Although this material virtually never breaks down and remains in nature forever and ever, there are still some creative ways to make it usable again, in addition to the conventional method of recycling.
So far, we’ve shown you what you can do with old plastic bags and plastic cutlery and straws. Today we are dealing with PET bottles. These plastic products are known to everyone today and you can see them almost everywhere, but unfortunately sometimes thrown away in the woods or on the field. Who would have thought that one could actually create beautiful figures out of it? The Czech Veronika Richterová shows us a very unconventional and environmentally friendly way, what you can afford with the used PET bottles of mineral water and shower.
Delicate blue roses
Richterová used heat to make the bottles in any shape. From this, strange creatures have been created. Colorful fish, beautiful flowers, bats, frogs, crabs and magnificent cacti will surprise you here and now. So far, the innovative artist has processed thousands of bottles. She even hosts a museum of plastic sculptures, where you can admire about 3000 works of art. When it comes to useless objects, the young Czech woman sees whimsical art figures, who let the sculpture live on. It is their own way of showing people that you must always strive for the beautiful and the good in the world. Their sustainable art gives us hope and motivates us to think more and more about our environment and to protect it in all our activities. Take a look at the plastic art of Richterová and think about what you can make from plastic at home. Maybe you still have some plastic bottles or bags that have not yet landed in the yellow bin.
