Making a magnetic board yourself – magnetic board made of driftwood by Hejmonti
Exceptional magnetic board created from driftwood
Driftwood is a specific species that has withstood the forces of nature such as relentless blizzards, tidal waves and strong winds and is now found on coasts and beaches worldwide. The German brand Hejmonti had the idea to transform such piece of wood into a project named “drift”.
Make magnetic board yourself
A series of rough, creative products is actually the end result. The geographical coordinates of each locality are burned into the wood with branding iron, which adds a typographic element to the piece. After the driftwood is equipped with magnets and covered with silver sheet. Bowl, knife, tools and other metallic objects can be easily held on the magnetic board mounted on the wall. Each panel has its own appearance – exceptional edges and washed-out grains associated with nails, knots and snails.
